2024/25 SEASON TRAILER
Welcome to the new season y’all, I am back from my holidays, and I am all geared up towards an exciting season. A lot of new music, like the world premiere of the @annathorvaldsdottir concerto with @sfsymphony, or the premiere of a piece for choir and cello by Mathilde Wantenaar at the @CelloBiennaleAmsterdam . I am excited for the Spanish premiere of the Detlev Glanert concerto at the @sinfonicadagalicia which I premiered last season at the @kolnerphilharmonie9890 and the @PhilharmonieLux
There are some classics as well this season, like the Lutoslawski concerto with @chicagosymphony which marks not only the 20th anniversary of my debut with CSO, but my US debut altogether. A memorable and important waypoint for me, which will talk more about later in the season. I am bringing Saint-Saens to the @SydneyOperaHouse with the @sydneysymphony as well as Detroit where I will be guesting for the first time. There is lots more coming, for an overview visit my website www.johannes-Moser.com or stay tuned on this channel, there will be ample clips and pics coming your way.
And most importantly: Thank YOU for joining me on this journey, together we can make a difference in the world of classical music!

If its not burning🔥it ain’t hot enough… The finale of the Shostakovich concerto taking flight tonight in Spain with the excellent Orchesta Sinfonica Reg. Murcia @osmurcia_ and Maestro Manuel Silva. This piece is just through and through satisfying for a soloist, as it really encompasses the whole range of emotion and drive one can hope for in a piece. We Cellists are so lucky to have this piece...

guarneri ,es simple.
Guarneri every time 👍 with a Big Pink Bow 😊
Great cellist
But I might trade the Guarneri for the Mercedes spokeswoman.
Glad you weren’t playing a Mercedes when you performed the Brahms Double at Millenium Park a month or so ago.
Duh. Guarneri. You can buy 50 Mercedes for one Guarneri.
Teaching us all what is really the desirable things to have in life!
Nice lol
That transition is one of the most beautiful ❤passages of mov 1. What a genius Dvorak is.
Bitte ab sofort nur noch Guarneri-ASMR statt Dvořák.
crazy tone!
Every time I hear the serene part, I think about a cosy Christmas night in front of the fireplace ❤️🔥
Siempre ese pasaje nos deja sabor amargo. No me explico maestro Rostropovich
Such a beautiful piece so beautifully played! Thank you for brightening our day! ❤
💕
Pure tenderness
❤❤❤❤❤
Glorious!
Thank you!
Beautiful passage!
❤
Bravo!!!
Huh?
Beautiful fingering🎉
AHHH! That's the WORST feeling!
What microphone is that? 😂😂 Insane quality
Still strange, that you seemingly wrote to me in Messenger. Maybe hacked?
Must be. Sorry for so many bots.

Ouch!
Johannes and Josu! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 What a shame that the pneumonia I had in December prevented me from enjoying these concerts in Bilbao! 💎
I'm not a cellist, not even a musician. But I do sport (equestrian, kung fu and fitness 😅) and yes you need to prepare your body to the next movement beforehand as well. Thank you for sharing this! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
🔥🔥🔥
Please come visit Florida! We would love to hear you live
Would love to! I think I am coming back to New World in some future season....
@@JohannesMoserCellist I'll be on the lookout!
I've never heard it this fast, I think... I understand that these are ornaments between the chords, but I think even the harmonical tempo doesn't demand such a fast tempo. At least on a modern 4 string cello, this sounds a bit too unrelaxed to me with all the shifts etc.
I think he had to play this fast in order to fit UA-cam Shorts' time limit
Hahah this MIGHT be a reason sometimes, but in this case I just desperately needed a bathroom break
I feel similarly on the one hand, indeed it seems to zip by, and the challenges on 4 strings are more apparent, on the other the measure in 4/4 stares at me with strict eyes every time I open the suite and demands respect... I experimented by removing the intricate ornaments and replacing them by simple, "slower" ornaments, just leaving the chord progression to be heard. First of all, the simplicity of falling 5ths was very apparent, and the simple build etc. It's definitely still a work in progress, but I cannot go back to the Allemande in 8 or even 16 beats per bar. There must be a way... I'll keep searching!
@@JohannesMoserCellistThat makes total sense bc it felt really stressed. Maybe you should play Elfentanz before your next bathroom break? 🤭
@JohannesMoserCellist Sorry, I didn't see the longer comment. I totally understand the struggle. Most people fall into playing it at least with 8 beats per bar, which can't be the solution. Removing or changing some ornaments to make it fit better on 4 strings is very bold but interesting! Personally, I tried to play the 4 beats in strict tempo to make them predictable for the listener so that they can rely on them. This includes catching up on time sometimes, e.g. when chords take longer to play. But the beauty of Bach is of course that everyone has to find their own way and the search never really stops!
Beautiful
